Kawhia Camping Ground offers simple Kawhia accommodation for camping holidays, fishing trips and family getaways. Choose from 14 powered sites with water and power or 4 standard cabins, with shared facilities including free WiFi, showers, kitchen facilities, BBQ and laundry.

We have 14 large Power Sites and 4 Standard Cabins available that sleep up to 6.

Facilities on site include laundry, clothes dryer, fridges and freezers, microwave, oven, plenty of hot plates and free BBQ. The ablution block has free showers, toilets, and accessible facilities for wheelchairs and babies.

For the kids, both young and old, there is a trampoline, soccer and swing ball sets available.

Unlimited free wifi available.

A well-appointed fish cleaning facility including a smoker and bait freezer is available for fishers.

Standard Cabins

Kawhia Camping Ground has 2 cabins that sleep up to 6 (1 double and 4 single bunk beds) and 2 cabins that sleep up to 3 (1 double and 1 single bunk beds). Each cabin is supplied with a fridge, jug, toaster, cutlery and crockery. Bedding will be needed, no bedding hire available. Check-in time after 1.30pm, check-out before 10.30am.

Tariff: $70 - $80 for 2 people +$25 per adult & $15 per child per night.

Camp Sites

All 14 camp sites have water, power, shade trees and picnic tables. At 63m² they are larger than the average camping ground site and are configured for easy access for caravans and motorhomes. A dump station is available for guest use. Check-in time after 1.30pm, check-out before 10.30am.

Kawhia Camping Ground has practical holiday park facilities for guests staying in cabins, caravans, motorhomes and tents. Facilities include free WiFi, showers, toilets, laundry, clothes dryer, fridges and freezers, microwave, oven, hot plates, BBQ, fish cleaning facilities, a smoker and a bait freezer.

The campground is also set up for families, with play equipment, accessible facilities and a baby changing room. Guests can walk to the harbour and boat ramp, and Ocean Beach is nearby for visits to Te Puia Hot Springs around low tide.
